Providing Small Town Service Since 1964

"Hello, my name is Kevin Wellnitz. I am the current owner of Sather's Service in downtown Orfordville, WI. I bought the business from Bill Sather in October of 2013. Bill Sather purchased the business from his father R.W. Sather in 1970.

Here's a little background about myself and how it led me to where I am today:

I grew up just outside of Orfordville, WI on a family owned dairy farm (my Mom & Dad still own/operate the farm) and went to school just up the street from Sather's Service at Parkview Junior/Senior High School. When I graduated High School in 2003 I decided to join the Army Reserves. After Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in 2004 I started college at the University of Wisconsin Platteville. After Warrant Officer Candidate School in 2009, my Internship at Trostel Ltd. in 2010, and two deployments to Iraq in 2006 & 2011, I finally graduated in 2012 with a Major in Mechanical Engineering & a Minor in Business Administration. My first job as a Mechanical Engineer was with Monroe Trucking Equipment as a shop foreman. I worked here for the next year, just to find that my dream job was awaiting me right back in my home town, at a place that I had driven past hundreds of times.

That brings me to where I am at today; the owner of Sather's Service.

Since October of 2013 I have been striving to modernize and bring Sather's into the 21st century all while keeping the feeling of the 1950's. Yes, we have computers, a website, we're on Facebook, we have updated service equipment, but it's all tastefully placed inside of a vintage 1926 brick building. Amongst the vintage gas station signs and memorabilia, oil and gas cans, license plates, classic calendars, and hub caps, you will feel like you've stepped back in time.

Stop by and get a fill-up, quote on tires, an oil change, or just take a look around and try to find all the vintage artifacts placed around the service station."

In May of 2018 we purchased the old Citgo station in downtown Orfordville (across the street from the Service Station). This is where we now offer 24/7 Gasoline and Diesel Fuel sales at a 'Self Servie' price. The building has been under renovations to bring it back to its original (mid 1950's) appeal since November of 2018 with a planned completion date of April 2019. Once finished, the building will be used to house a deli, which will have locally raised meats, cheeses, & produce for sale. The tentative opening of the deli is May 1st 2019. Stay tuned for more...
